PFAKS IV this weekend

This weekend the slalom course at Holme Pierrepont will host the final event in the Alpkit Plastic Fantastic Freestyle Series. The British Championships will also take place on the Sunday, it is a packed programme!

More postal strikes

The latest round of Royal Mail postal strikes run from 12am Thursday, 4 October until 12am Wednesday, 10 October.  As many of you know we use the Royal Mail to deliver the vast majority of our orders so it puts us in a pickle.

In response we are offering to upgrade all orders over £50 to our CityLink courier service. All orders below this value (except Woomf boulder mats which get shipped courier anyway) will not be shipped until the 10th.

Regretfully we cannot offer this upgrade on lower value orders, for example we couldn’t sell our Indigo headtorch for £5 when it costs £5 to ship it. If you really need the product you can still place your order by phone and we will charge you an extra £4 to upgrade to the courier service. 

Remember, courier services require a signature upon delivery so if this is going to be a problem, it may be worth delaying your order.

Colab08 Live Forum Chats

Entries are already coming in for our design competition, Colab08 but there have been questions as well. We have teamed up with those nice guys at Outdoors Magic and UK Climbing to organise a thread to run in their forums that Nick will answer immediately as questions come in. If you have any ideas you’d like to mull over in a forum, or a question about the competition in general you can catch them as follows:

Outdoors Magic: Tuesday 9th October from 2pm-5pm
UK Climbing: Thursday 11th October 12pm-4pm

Alpkit Innovation Award

The purpose of the Alpkit Innovation Award is to encourage teams and individuals to get involved in new ideas and concepts, and to encourage the industry to look, listen and learn from its customers. The Award will culminate in a show case event at The Outdoors Show 08.

Fat Airic Sleeping Mats in two new colours

Fat Airic is back on our shelves and available in two new colours; Lime Green and Jaffa Orange will add twist of zing to our wholesome Kelp. These mats are available now.

Chunk gets hitched

Alpkit original Col the Chunk is getting married this weekend. We just wanted to wish him and his bride Liz all the best and to raise a toast in their honour.

They came in this morning folks: LiteStix - our titanium chop sticks, Tikes - our titanium tent pegs and Clippers - our shiny red micro clips that are great for holding things together. All are available now from our shop.
