Outdoors Show and coLAB winners

We have just got back from a manic weekend at the NEC in Birmingham.. tired but happy. Our Jeanius water resistant jeans were a big hit amongst show visitors, although that may have been something to do with Dan and Pete following people around with water pistols! Our new Isolwool trekking socks arrived just a day late, but a mad dash back to Ilkeston saw them on our stand by Saturday morning at just £15 for three pairs.

Our coLAB Award provided a welcome attraction for many show visitors. This years winner was Kevin Beeden (AKA Captain Paranoia) with his Squeezebox stove. In second, and not too many votes behind was John Martin and his White Out Torch, and in third was Simon Masters with his SOS sleeping mat. We would like to thank all the participants for the commitment and energy they demonstrated over the 3 days.

We are back to the NEC today to break down the stand, but we will put up a full report as soon as things get a but more settled in the office.

Alp socks at the Outdoors Show

We have just come back from a visit to see our new Alpkit socks coming off the production line. Despite Col stalling the machine by getting too close with his lens we should have enough ready to bring to the Outdoors Show. Our new IsolWool trekking socks will be available in 4 sizes and sold as packs of 3 for £15. Full specs and photos to come soon!

Shaggy completes the Iditarod

Alpkit single speed rider John Ross aka Shaggy has just completed the Iditarod Trail Invitational - a 350 mile ride across frozen Alaska. Shaggy not only survived pushing his bike through waste deep snow and -30 degree temperatures, but came home in an incredible 4th place. Shaggy took with him some Alpkit development kit; a new AlpineDream sleeping bag, frame bag and Epic bivvy bag. We hope to have Shaggy, his rather special bike, and his Alpkit devkit with us at the Outdoors Show on the 27 - 29 March in Birmingham.
