Wanted: A Sewing Machine!

We have received an overwhelmingly positive response to our UK-made boulder mats and have seen each batch sell out in record time.  The last batch sold in just 7 minutes!  Consequently, we are ready to ramp up production and are now looking to recruit an experienced machinist to join our friendly, hard-working team.

Experience with automatic lockstitch sewing machines, ideally with heavy fabrics, is essential.  Cutting, binding, bar tacking and zip insertion experience would be an advantage.  The successful candidate must be self-motivated, take pride in producing high-quality products from start to finish and be a great team player as they will also be required to help train future recruits.

Alpkit is a small team: there are just ten of us, and as excellent customer service and high quality products are our bread and butter, you will be an important part of what we do.

We have a relaxed working environment but we work hard.  Tea (and coffee for the non-believers) is always to hand, decent music is almost always on but when there is stuff to do, we knuckle down and get on with the job.

What we are offering

We are initially offering a temporary, part-time contract. The hours of work will be 16 hours a week, Monday to Friday, shifts negotiable.  Wage will be negotiable depending on experience.
