A summer weekend in the Lakes seemed to be a good idea so we put as much stuff as we could in a large van and headed up to Ambleside.
Head for the Hills is a new outdoors festival bringing attractions included walks, scrambles, climbs and host of new activities to try, plus advice, demos and workshops, with celebrity appearances from the biggest names in walking like Sir Chris Bonington, Simon Yates and Sir Alan Hinkes.
