A big thanks to everyone who entered our SMEG competition during December. To choose a winner we asked Tracy from our local cafe to generate a random number that led us to a winner. That winner turned out to be Andrea from Blackpool who was all too happy to except the prize!
This comp would never have happened without the full support of SMEG UK, they make great appliances.. combining technology with style and we had a lot of fun making it happen.
We hit you with a tricky one to end the comp. The ridge line depicted on the SMEG fridge is based on the east face of Mont Blanc du Tacul, you can see a good picture of this on our coLAB page. One of the climbs on this face is named 'Scotch on the Rocks' and this is the drink Nick was making himself.
The answer to our spot the same round was pictures 1 and 4.
Film.. 3 Words.. 2nd Syllable.. little word.. sounds like.. well played people we can see you are old hands at charades. The answer was one of our favourite films.. The Eiger Sanction. You can see the full solution on You Tube.
It takes 1000 grams of 650 fill power down to fill one of our SkyeHigh1000 sleeping bags but it takes just 36 grams to fill the SMEG ice box.
It was Ron Fawcett who couldn't stop himself gasping 'Come on arms, do your stuff' whilst climbing Lord of the Flies on Dinas Cromlech. He was being filmed at the time by Sid Perou.
Tomaz Humar was the alpinist who influenced the development of our simple Gourdon drybag product range.
Lots of correct answers for this one, I guess a lot of you must of been at the Kendal Film Festival! the answer was of course Journey of a Red Fridge
Some people really got into this question, did the math and came up with a somewhat ambitiuos figure. The actual number of OSB bottles we could get in our SMEG were 31. 8 in the veg tray, 7 on the first shelf, 7 on the second shelf. 5 in the bottom of the door, 2 lying sideways and two in the cheese compartment. Ale should be only ever so slightly chilled so Pete didn't put any in the freezer compartment.
The readers of SingleTrack magazine voted our Hunka bivvy bag as best software product.
The Italian craftsman is Andrea Sampaoli. Andrea is a craftsman and mountain guide and makes our fine brass keyrings.. ideal Christmas gifts!
Cactirubeye is an anagram of 'Ice Cube Tray', this is what Nick was pulling out of the fridge.
The largest Drydock has a capacity of 90 litres, the largest Gourdon 30 litres giving a combined capacity of 120 litres. The fresh food capacity of the SMEG FAB 10R is 107 litres so Ken needed a Large Airlok XT bag with a capacity of 13 litres to store the rest of the food. Don't worry if you got it wrong, we still have 11 more days to run. Some of you actually thought Ken wouldn't be able to lift the bags.. shame on you!
