A great day on the hill turned out to be a winter mountain challenge. The Cruachan Ridge near Loch Awe changed from a fun winter’s day out, to a bone numbing minus 30 epic. The cold wind cut into any exposed skin like a knife. It was so strong we watched in horror as it blew another parties dog off the ridge to its death. The watery winter sun did nothing to lift the temperature & could only be enjoyed through ice encrusted silt left exposed for our eyes. On our return to the cars our hound looked exactly as we felt, frozen and stiff. But what a great day we had!
