SORRY, COMP NOW CLOSED

Last month the Alpkit Unit was infected big time by the cycling bug. We cycled when we could, and when we couldn't there was usually a jolly good reason like monsoon strength rains or little Isabelle had kept Col up all night.

We started to love the ride so much we wanted to capture it on film, so armed with a camcorder we hit the trail. It took us a couple of takes to get the headcam right but you can see the results of our very home made commuter movie on You Tube.

Ok, so the picture quality may not be great, the terrain isn't all that extreme and we didn't get any shots from a zipline.. but we think it gives a good overview of our route into work.

We like to give a big thumbs up to anything human powered so we are going to stick to our saddles a little longer to bring you a competition in collaboration with Singletrack. Up for grabs is a years subscription to Singletrack magazine, but that's not all.. how are you going to take your copy into work? with an Alpkit PooterPod of course!

We want to see your commute to work; capture it in stills, moving images and drop a sweet soundtrack over the top, then upload it to our You Tube Commuter Cam Group for everyone to see.

The comp will run until the 31st August. We will then sit down with some popcorn and select our favourite.

The Rules and Alpkit film hints:

  • We want to see you on your bike; no cars, mopeds or helicopters.
  • Keep it short and snappy. Max play time should be 2 mins.
  • The winner will receive one years subscription to Singletrack and an Alpkit PooterPod.
  • This prize is available to UK residents only however we have a lot of keen international friends who love to ride. We reserve the right to offer a small prize at our discretion to the best international film.
  • Try to capture the vibe of your ride from your house to work.
  • If you do not have access to a video camera why not use stills and tie it all together with some tunes.
  • We don't mind seeing a bit of lycra, but please remember young children may see your video.
  • If you are new to You Tube make sure to read their terms and conditions before uploading your movie. You Tube is not a subsidiary of Alpkit and we have no influence on their terms of service.. we are just taking advantage of their services for the purpose of this comp.

Alpkit competitions are announced in our monthly email newsletter 'Cappuccino'. Make sure you keep your email address up to date so that you do not miss out on future competitions and product updates.
