It has been 12 months since we started to rotate our home page image on a monthly basis. Looking back at them now we see an eclectic mix, many were influenced on the spur of a moment, others were planned and linked to a specific event or theme.

One thing they all have in common is that they have been set up in or close by our unit, often at short notice, using stuff lying around or brought in from home and staring ourselves! One thing they are not are big budget productions!.

Now we want to see what you can do. Design us a homepage image for June, it can feature your favourite Alpkit products, your favourite activity or both. We will leave the creativity to you. As an added bonus you will get a one year subscription to Climb Magazine.

Your final image must be 900 pixels wide, it can be as tall as you like but a widescreen format makes sure the image fits onto most peoples screen. Check out our examples for some ideas.

The Chunks photo shoot tips..

  • Charge your battery the night before
  • If you can't get your mates to fork out for that trip to Patagonia or Yosemite, shoot against a white backdrop and create your own exotic location
  • When your models need a good soaking, for maximum effect don't tell them till the last moment
  • If you're lucky enough to have a wig guy, then this can help get you the 'look' and perhaps embarrass an unsuspecting volunteer

The Rules

  • The image width must be 900 pixels wide. The height can be anything you want however as you will see from our examples a widescreen format works best.
  • You should include your Alpkit products in the shot!
  • The image should be your own work, if you can also get in the shot yourself it is even cooler.
  • Don't spend millions of pounds on your shoot, be creative with stuff you already have in your life.
  • You can submit your entries through May and the winning image will be featured on our home page in June.
  • If there are no appropriate entries we shall have to panic and create our own.
