I would like to see a piece of headgear, thin enough to be worn under a cycling helmet, waterproof to keep out rain and cold winds and with a “peak” at the rear to stop the rain running down my neck and another at the front to help deflect rain and snow out of my eyes, plus low winter sun.

Just an aged cyclist who wore a waterproof nylon trilby(?-style hat before being a reluctant convert to a helmet.
Hi , i have my product on this site, called the Highson Change cycling jacket. It has two styles one of which is aimed at a higher retail market. It is being suggested to me by my designers working on retail quality versions that i should have a stiff almost starched cap front to the hood of my jacket they sent me some copyrighted designs recently. Have to admitt did not quite get it my self. But i like the bad weather so maybe im a bit nuts. I will however now look further into it and if others share your view i will keep it in the design. weither or not the coat design in general would be your cup of tea i dont know, but it may end up solving your problem as well as the one my product set out to initially?

Would be great to see some sketches Harry, how long do you think the peak should be? what material do you think it should be made from? The idea might also cross over into other sports such as horse back riding or kayaking.
