Make Chalk Bags From Recycled Materials

It seems that nearly every material can be recycled these days from metal to plastics. If it is possible to recycle bottles into fleeces and old base layers into new ones then shouldn’t it be possible to make chalk bags from recycled nylon or other plastic materials and also use recycled fleece on the inside?

Profile Neil Mosgrove

My name is Neil Mosgrove I work in an outdoor shop in Perth in Scotland. I’m pretty shocked that about 90% of the stuff in the outdoor industry uses plastics and is harmful to the environment that everyone uses and loves.

Or just factory scraps, I guess most places that make chalkbags also make other fabric products and end up with plenty of bits for small stuff like this. I think theres a few things like that already.

I bought my first chalkbag in ‘97 and stopped using it in ‘98. Would suggest that it is just a bit of stuff that doesn’t need to be used at all as recycling also has an effect on the environment. Chalk is nowhere near as effective as a hand drying gel, which takes up less room and does not leave white paw prints on the rock.
