Foamless Bouldering Mat

A mat without the foam. The shock absorption comes from a honeycomb matrix sandwhiched between two layers of silicon gel mat. As impact is made the force is spread from wall to wall of the matrix and the whole mat deforms in a ripple. The gel stops any contact with the ground as it is more dense. Due to the efficiency of the honeycomb the mat can be made thinner, larger air pockets make it lighter and the mat will last longer as there is no foam to compress.
