During our wash tests and manufacturer recommendations we specified 40º on the website. Not sure why some have shrunk at 40º and others haven’t but I have updated the website to now wash at 30º. Anyone who has a pair of socks washed at 40º that has shrunk we will replace no quibbles. Thanks for the comments, Alpjim
wash them at 30 not 40…......the hotter temperature causes the material to shrink, much like tumble drying, as they have wool in them…... so wash on a lower heat setting and all should be well….apart from those who have already shrunk their socks, they are knackered.
I have a similar problem - mine have now shrunk so much that I can’t wear them any more. A real shame, as when they were new, they were great. I’ll probably buy some more anyway, but this time I’ll go for a size larger than I need and accept that they’ll shrink.
Hi Guys,
I have had three pairs of the trekker socks for about a month now and have washed them at 40’ as advised on the website but boy have they shrunk. I am now having difficulties actually putting them on, which is a shame because thay are actually very comfy socks.
Any advice?
Great socks at a great price. Wash with care though or not all all if you dare….
