Bought the 180 Base as my first self inflator and am impressed especially for the price. I actually like the fact it came with no instructions or packaging - much less waste and watching a short video gives you all the info you need. Only had it out a couple of times so still giving it a small top up after it self inflates but thats no worries at all.
At first we were very happy with our five new Airic mats. They gave the whole family a good sleep. However after a couple of seasons use (2 weeks max a year)they are all leak and are useless. We are not just talking about one hole either they are all riddled with microscopic holes top and bottom.
I have been using the Alpkit mats for a few years now. Recently been really impressed with customer services and am loving my new Dozer. We use them in the house when people stay over, much better than the squeeky airbeds of the past.
Fat Boy Sleeping Mat .Bought this for my husband who is a tall man and he was thrilled with it. After the first inflation we left it for 24hrs and then it inflated no problem at all. Really comfortable and good value. The service was brilliant as well as communication really good company to deal with .
Just bought the dirtbag and am impressed.
Blew it the first time which was very easy, left for a couple of hours and deflated it, putting it back into the bag with ease. Opened it up and it quickley self inflated. Very comfy, even lying on my side it holds you off the floor.
Arrived within 24 hours of ordering!
I have owned a wideboy self inflating mat for about 10 months now. Although very comfy it has never really inflated itself very well, doing most of the inflating myself. Last weekend the internals of the mat came apart causing a huge balloon type effect on one end. Good mat, but not so sure about long term quality.
Just bought a Dirtbag after having had a very old self-inflator die on me. Have to say I was a bit alarmed at how narrow it seemed compared to my old war horse but it was actually no problem at all. Also very impressed with how light it is. And - how totally comfy it was. Several great nights sleep. Did have the common problem of wondering why it didn’t inflate but knew I’d find the answer on-line when I returned. Sadly the internet isn’t so easy to access in the wilds, so agree that a fact sheet should be included to make sure the inflate problem is clear.
I went up Kilimanjaro the other day, and my SkyeHigh 800 and Filo were perfect, keeping me very warm.
While the Base 180 sleeping mat is very comfortable (particularly with lots of sharp stones underneath the tent!), it has next to no grip and I did find myself sliding towards one end of the tent since the ground at the camp sites isn’t level. Maybe something to look at if the design is ever revised?
Dirtbag arrived today. Thought there was something wrong with it when it didn`t inflate. After looking up information about self-inflating mats from the customer services page, I discovered it is normal, when first opening it, to have to blow into it quite a bit. So why wasn`t that information given with the mat? Anyway now happy to say it`s inflated and very comfy.Haven`t yet tried rolling it back up again though!
Just arrived back from 11 nights in Snowdonia, the Dirtbag was fine, only needed topping up after about a week, the “Bulb” lit the tent for the whole time and the headlight helped moving around the campsite and in lighting the campfire!!! Also, the drybag kept my clothes dry as well…...Keep up the good work!!!!!
