PipeDream400 just arrived - well impressed with the look of it - you didn’t say how beautifully shiney it is!
Oh, and you are having a jest with the iddy, biddy stuff sack aren’t you? No, really…
Just returned from Nepal and used the bag (pd800) down to temperatures below -16 indoors!
All I can say is that while others were cold I was toasty day after day. Pack size is fantastic and build quality superb. Another great alpkit product ![]()
Hi guys,
Very interested in getting one of these (probably the PD800) once they are available again. Anyone knows when?
Also - I’m about 1m85 = 6ft1, which is the max recommended user height. The bag won’t be/feel to short for that height yet, right?
grtz
Following from my post dated 17th September, I’ve returned from wild camping in the outer hebrides. I chose the PD800 as I am a girl who feels the cold more than most. It is boiling! I woke the first night in a state as I had overheated! Had to leave bag open! Night temps were very mild i admit but for girls who struggle with cold, this is the bag for you!
Just a quick line. I used my pipedream 400 in the Brenta Dolomites about 4 weeks ago inside a goretex bivvi. I woke in the morning thinking that I wasn’t as warm as usual; not cold you understand, just not as warm as usual. It was when I couldn’t pour water into my pan for a morning brew that I realised that it had gone down to -4 in the night and the whole area was snow covered. I’ve used the bag many times previously but that left me impressed!
Hi i bought a PD 600, it is awsome soo cozy small pack size, great.
Hi Everyone
A few people seem to have the old labels sewn into the bags. The bags used to be made from Pertex but are now made from Toray.
All bags that have left Alpkit in the last 18 months or so have been made with Toray.
Cheers
Nick
My Pipedream800 arrived yesterday(tuesday) after ordering sunday pm. I will tell you how it performs on my solo wild camping cycle touring adventure in the outer hebrides in October when/if I return
One comment, on the bag, the fabric is labelled as Pertex Quantum not Toray as described. Is this a 2007 model? If so, are there any other differences?
I have recently discovered your website after spending ‘quite some time’ trolling through t’internet and shops in search of a reasonably priced down bag. I like the look of your site and your whole approach to marketing your products. I have been camping for years, mostly in fair weather, both on sites and on the hill, but now want to go out and do some winter stuff with Jack Frost. I really like the sound of your PipeDream bags and I think I will soon be placing an order.
In anticipation,
Colin
Is the PipeDream 200 likely to be available again? (i.e. the one which is filled only up to the waist) I’d like to buy one some day for my husband to use on Scottish summer walking trips in conjunction with his Filo jacket.
