Love my PipeDream, looking forward to testing it out in West Highlands in April.
A small, very picky comment. The PDF sheet for the PipeDream shows a diagram of a bag with a full zip, this might confuse very stupid people?

I would like to see a a field test done for the pipedream like the one in the dolomites done for the alpinedream.

Thought I’d let you know I’ve used my Pipedream 600 in the field (or to be precise in the garden) during the recent cold spell. Using a Prolite 3 thermarest and a outdoor designs bivi I slept pretty comfortably with the outside temperature down to -4’C and a ground cover of snow. I would like to have been somewhere more exotic but work dictates otherwise!

when will the next generation of hood come? plan to buy one by mid april btw…
also, how does it perform in above zero conditions? i’m planning a trip to iceland, where my 1 season bag will be too cold, but being in the summer, the nights should hover between 5 and -2 degrees - i won’t be too hot will i?!

sorry if this is in the wrong place!

Used my 400 on Dartmoor over the weekend. It was a cold wet one but i stayed really warm. An excellent lightweight trekking bag.

On the detailpage about the pipedream, it is stated somewhere that you are not satisfied with the current hood design. When do you plan to release a new version??

Hi Glewwelyn
We are not 100% with the hood but that doesnt mean that it it isnt a good hood, i think most designers look back at designs and think what they would improve next time and the hood is one area that might recieve a little attention.  If we do update the design it wont be until Next Year

Used my 400 over the last couple of weeks in all ranges of temperatures and was comfortable throughout. One question though - why does the bag come with a stuff sac and a compression sac? they both go to pretty much the same size when the bag is in them.

Features at a glance

  • Storage - Each PipeDream bag comes with 3 stuff bags; a 4-way compression bag, lightweight stuff bag and a cotton storage bag.
  • Quality Components - All of component parts of the PipeDream are of the highest quality, YKK zips, Duraflex buckles and accessories.
  • 750 Fill Power Down - We use 95/5 750+ (European scale) fill power Chinese white goose down, the highest quality down available in China suitable for the purpose.
  • Lightweight Shell - The fabric used on the PipeDream is made by Toray, one of the largest and most respected mills in Japan. It weights a measly 29gm/m2 yet the weave is down proof. We have not used a cheaper polyester fabric for the lining of the bag, the same lightweight nylon continues throughout the construction of the bag.
  • Internal Pocket - Internal zippered chest pocket is handy for storing your wallet or iPod.
