Just to say, got some of these after all! Immense, so light! I’m the envy of all! So good I almost bought two pairs (thanks to my poor online shopping skills) Cheers to the ALPLADS for getting in touch, excellent customer service!
Love the poles. Only problem is that the wrist loop has come undone, and the very clever way that the plastic thingy binds against the strap and holds it in place is too clever for me. Any advice?
Bought some poles a month or two ago. One of the baskets was too large for the pole and wouldnt stay on. Bit of gaffer tape - problem solved and the poles have been great. Then this morning 2 baskets randomly arrived in the post. Im assuming alpkit sent them out? Or is there a random basket fairy out there? Cheers.
Bought these on Friday, arrived Saturday and used on Monday to the groans of my friends who soon got tierd of my endless praise for these great poles. So light, so strong and so reasonably priced. Buy these - you can’t do any better.
Its all down to personal preference. Some people prefer cork becuase they think it feels more natural. Other prefer EVA because it is slightly lighter and feel it isn’t as sweaty.
Cheers Jim for Alpkit
hullo, I’m bout to buy a pair of these, just wondering what handle to go for? Can anyone give me a rundown of differences between cork and EVA?

Cheers, Jim
Had these as few months and they are great. Very light and have helped with my weak knee, plenty of long distant walks in the mountains.
Where can I get a rubber bit for the end from I lost one?
i’ve been using these for the last few weekends walking into routes in scotland. brilliant they are. and light, barely noticed them in the pack while climbing.
i also found that the baskets stopped them from being ripped out of my bag when i got avalanched - a bonus you probably didn’t especially design into it!
just a couple of thoughts for when you redesign them, when it’s cold and damp and your gloves are covered in ice, and you’re not the most dextrous being on the planet, it’s a pain to get the twist locking to work properly. could you desigin an assymetric grip for the twistlocks? doesn’t have to be huge, just a bit wider in one plane, as if you’d pinched it, so you can get some purchase on it. just on the bottom two sections as the handle on the top one gives enough grip.
maybe i’m just weak and feeble, but it’s one less hassle after you’ve been hanging round gripping axes all day.
and would it be possible to get them in four sections rather than three? it would make stashing them in the bag a lots easier which helps on those climbs like glovers chimney when you don’t want too much to get in the way. i know it would add weight to teh product, but it’s just a thought to share with you.
i was going to suggest snow baskets but i see you’re one step ahead of me and my mate has a just over 14 month old small person, and was lamenting the gap in your range for this sized child!
i hope all this blathering nonsense helps
used the poles this weekend for first time and I must say i thought they were great. I’ve never used poles before and now i wish i’d started earlier. great bits of kit
