Remember you don’t have to use the purge valve. You could then choose which is more important dry kit that floats, or dry kit that doen’t take up much space.
The important bit is DRY kit ![]()

If it had a valve to take the air out it would not float that well when kayaking or canoeing!!!!
I got an XS Chili one today very impressed so far.
Keep it up alpkit

Re air permeable - why not just fit a “purge valve” to dump the air out? This could be something like an airbed valve, then the bag could be sealed, the valve opened and the air squeezed out.
Then your bag will take up even less space ![]()
I ordered some dry bags, then realised what a bargain they were and ordered some more. These are really sturdy and kept everything bone dry during a day of torrential rain walking in Iceland.
I used a little red one as a camera bag, clipped round my pack strap after its own case got sodden.
The blue ones held Pipedream 600s as snugly as their own stuff sacks and then the sleeping bags held us a snugly as buglies in ruglies.
Fabulous service by the way.
Really useful - now emergency gear is in a red bag, spare clothes in blue, lunch in black - I can find everything in moments and I know it will be dry! Great price and touch enough to cope with a careless owner…
How about a red one with white cross to make first aid kits instantly recognisable?
Wow, so cheap, yet so much more durable than other leading brands, just taken deliver of my second order!
A very happy bunny indeed.
Just taken delivery in time for the rain soaked motorbike ride to work. Now I arrive with dry socks, shirt and trousers. Oh yeah and their laptop arrived dry back at the office unfortunately for me. Girfriend will be using hers for a forthcoming trip to Ireland as a rucksac liner.
Ive just taken delievery of 5 Airlok XT in various sizes, woooooooo! should one be usually excited by drybags?
Is there any alpkit product you wouldnt want?
thanks again Alpchaps!

I love these dry bags, a good size, easy to roll top, and yes, it is annoying have the trapped air, but if you do it at an angle, speeze all the air out, then unroll it, and reroll, you can seal it with little air, and minimum space.
An excellent product at a great price. Thanks
