Thanks for the comments so far. It is unlikely we will introduce a fully waterproof bag yet, the added expense/weight of the roll top and taped seams would move the range away from the original concept of a simple bag to put your stuff in. We have found some very nice siliconised ripstop nylon, it is very tactile and does not rustle like the original Apollos. The colour coding idea we could work on, and look at adding a rolltop version afterwards.
Different colours, colour codeing kinda thing
i also echo Micheal Salmon’s point - Roll seal waterproofing, and air valve for compression. and would like to see a waterproof bag/wallet for money, passport, etc
Funnily enough two of the three people that came up with that idea, work in Alpkit.
Saw the outdoor designs one the other day. Instead of having a one way valve, the bottom of the bag is made of a one way breahtable fabric - works the same as a valve. Top Idea!
Yes to air valves - or a less complex bung. Squeezing air out reduces the risk of punctures and the vacuum will draw the bag sides together where they touch to keep the water out. A smooth pvc bag will do this better than one with reenforcing mesh.
No to colours, textures etc. Colours will only increase your stock levels and hence price. Transparent bags will have the colour & shape of whatever is in them.
We’ll have one big enough for a sleeping bag and one small enough for a phone, so you can use it while it’s safe inside the bag, please.

Yes you 100% correct, the draw cord isnt the best. The next ones will be much better.
Cheers

I have some of your earlier bags which have proved excellent........
Apart from the draw cords which seem to unravel themselves into a single long strand! Get some decent cord in them and i’ll buy more..
having experimented with all sorts of bags I recently converted to a box - one of the food saver boxes with an o ring seal and four ‘lock down tabs’ - More weitght, but hardly breaking the bank, the one I have is ideal for a phone, GPS cash and keys, and has some bash defence when in an outside pocket. Figure the tab hinges and seal may go by the end of a season’s use, but definitely an advance on a self seal bag and at teh same sort of price.
they are fine as they are. Just more colours needed. Roll tops and valves will add cost and weight. The sacks are perfect for organising kit.
