A Wet Summer Night’s Dream
Nothing can beat a night out under the stars but mountain weather can turn on a dime. Perhaps you are intrigued by tarps but can’t believe that rain isn’t going to blow up under your fly turning your favourite down bag into a pile of mush. Maybe you need a bivy bag.
Work has begun on an Alpkit bivy bag, here are a few early pictures of the prototype.

This early model weighs in at 450gr and rolls up into a sewn in pouch on the foot section. The design of the bag is simple; no zip and a drawstring around the hood. The material is lightweight, windproof and downproof with a breathable and waterproof coating. We shall be taking the bivy bag (along with a few other bits and pieces) out to ICE07 next week hoping to get some useful feedback to channel into the final design.
