Just ordered a pair! Can’t wait to get them and try them out. I spend most weekends with the Scout Assocation camping and doing adventurous activities so these sound perfect! I know plenty more leaders who will be desparate to get a pair of these!

Ah, no worries.  It’s just started working again and I have ordered a pair.  Do you want the bits back when I’ve finished my course?  Heh-heh!

I love the idea of these jeans, I would probably find that I’d live in them when not at work.
The problem I have with the current design is the leg length, I’m a 32 waist and there’s no way I could walk in a 32 leg without tripping over, quite the opposite effect of looking ‘cool’.
Could the legs be easily taken up?
Are there plans to produce different leg lengths for each size if this batch sells well??
Ta,
Kev.

Just ordered a pair,

At the mo I’m working in Sierra Leone and it’s rainy season, so looking forward to testing just how waterproof they are. Unfortunately ill have to wait till next month to test them on the wall.

If they are as good as the rest of my Alpkit purchases I’ve used out here, I’ll be very happy.

Cheers

In 2006 I bought a new Vega tent from the Swiss brand Exped. This is a single wall tent from Epic fabric.
The tent performed very well in Lappland and the Pyrenees. In 2008 I read an American research report that
stated that Epic could leak after 6 hours of continuous rain. Also this year this proved to be true while
camping in Belgium. I reclaimed and Exped sent me a new Vega tent, this time from Vent Air fabric.
Nevertheless, I will order a pair of jeans. The universal pub problem, you know!

How breathable are they?  I think if I were to wear these casually, I would want them to be no less breathable than standard jeans.

Just ordered a pair….

Suffering from being stuck in the house for the past six months awaiting brain surgery, stopping me from backpacking, mountain / road biking, sailing etc.

Anyway had the op last week, and now back home.

Will do my best to batter them shortly, when I can go ‘out’!!!

ordered my jeans last week and used them this weekend whislt instructing in the rain.

they worked really well, my legs only got a little bit wet, and i stayed pretty warm when they were worn over a baselayer. One problem i did find was that the back pockets filled with water quite well, which was probably run off from my jacket. it did eventually start to seep through, meaning that i got a bit wet. the water did dry out quickly though which was good.

the jeans were reasonably good when worn with a harness. one problem was that they tended to get pulled up a bit by the harness leg loops. mabye there could be some way of getting round this by using a slightly stretchier fabric on the diamond crotch bit?

Ordered a pair, and keen to see how they stand up to the daily pedal race to work and back.  Looking to see how ‘relaxed’ the fit is and the water shaking qualities.

Looking forward to posting once they arrive and I’ve had a week or so to try them out.

Just ordered a pair. Spend far too much time outdoors much to the detriment of other things. Hope to put them to the test once they arrive be it climbing, boating or biking.

Just arrived, so first impressions (just don’t tell my boss I’m at home)

VERY nice feel, as soft as stonewash, but with a little “different” texture.

They look just like a pair of quality jeans.

The fit is a bit snug, so I’ve ordered the next size up, SWMBO is already trying to steal them from me!

Given Tewkesbury’s perfect weather conditions for testing today, I took a walk outside.  It’s very weird to see water rolling of denim grin

Mine have just arrived. Between me you and these four walls if Alpkit ever realise they could charge us extra for what is basically a guaranteed 24hr delivery service, rather than give it away for free, then we’re screwed…

Am loving the inspiral carpets madchester styling (showing my age). 850g for the fat boy size (38/32) in case you were wondering. Think they smell funny, tho’ that could be me.

Current prediction is that pouring office watercooler water over them and watching it bead off perfectly will get boring at about 3.27pm.

Just ordered mine. I think they’ll get a good run for their money considering it rains 24/7 here in Wales.

Now to me the cut of these jeans looks rather manly downer , are Alpkit going to be bringing out a Ladies version of these jeans? now I dont mind wearing clothing, esp in the hills, which aren’t entirely flattering to my figure but for such a versatile pair of trousers as these then I would like to wear them to death everywhere, and still look half decent. A friend has just ordered a pair so I will inspect the cut at closer range, but ALPKIT get on the female fashion band wagon quick!  ohh

Also just to let you know, so of us have odd leg lengths…i.e. im a 30” waist 34” leg, which isnt in the sizing list, is there any chance of this?...i know many a climbing lad who is skinny but tall too, and would have trouble keeping a 32” waist up without the aid of a belt/harness. just a thought!
