Much as you love the sun, the UV rays it gives off not only provide you with a good tan but also degrade fabric and materials over time. Colours will fade and eventually fabrics will become as fragile as tissue paper. It will effect all materials from climbing ropes to tent flysheets. When storing any outdoor kit try and do so out of direct sunlight.
