A general classification for continuous filament manufactured fibre yarn which has been treated to give a different characteristics to that of the untreated yarn. Cordura is an example of a texturised nylon and as such is twice as strong as a standard nylon. Tactel is an example of a nylon that has been texturised to feel softer and quieter than a standard nylon.
