An impact modified crystalline thermoplastic polyamide resin. The defining Supertough Nylon characteristic is superior resistance to repeated impact loads. This material maintains good tensile strength, chemical resistance, stiffness and flexural memory. Nylon is, however, a hydroscopic resin. Therefore, physical properties will vary as the relative humidity changes. When dry, tensile strength is higher and impact is lower. When wet, tensile strength is low and impact strength is very high. Supertough is recommended for specific products or applications where extreme impact resistance is needed.
