The simplest method of creating a baffle, the outer and inner fabrics are stitched together directly. The disadvantage of this method is that the garment seams are not watertight and a cold spot can occur along the stitching line. The better jackets will use a low wicking thread to reduce the amount of water that can seep inside the garment.
