A rather sexy woven material that when combined with an epoxy resin forms an end product that is extremely lightweight for its strength. Can be brittle and when it fails, it does so catastrophically, e.g. doesn’t bend. Carbon Fibre does not conduct heat energy very efficiently. This makes Alpkit poles feel much warmer to the touch and they won’t freeze to bare skin like aluminium poles.
