News: Big Shakeout tickets now available

Following the success of our first Big Shakeout Adventure Festival last year, we are proud to announce the 2012 event which is again to be held in the heart of the Peak District at Thornbridge Outdoors on the 12th, 13th and 14th of October.

The Big Shakeout will offer a whole weekend of adventure and entertainment, tickets for the event are available now and will give full access to the festival site, camping, all evening entertainment and access to a host of free workshops, demos and seminars.  The festival’s campground area will buzz with live music, films and lectures in the evening and by day free on site activities including everything from bike maintenance, dry tooling and avalanche rescue techniques to camp cooking, circus skills and dry stone walling meaning there really does promise to be something for everyone!

If you want to try something completely new, learn the specific skills of a new discipline, or simply do more or do it better, you will have the opportunity to enrol in the Alpkit School of Adventure which offers short, affordable courses throughout the weekend in a huge variety of sports and pursuits delivered by the instructors of Thornbridge Outdoors, elite athletes and coaches at the top of their game, as well as ‘once in a lifetime’ special courses and experiences to be revealed closer to the event.

After a long day of your favourite activity, an exciting course or simply a mellow day’s walking in the Peak District, head back to the Thornbridge campground, grab an alpine style meal and a beer from the bar and enjoy the legendary Big Shakeout entertainments. Live music, films and a host of other activities will be sure to keep the festival vibe going late into the night.
