Thornbridge Outdoors Campground is a beautiful location to base your weekend of adventure in the company of people who like doing good things and going nice places. Sited in the old grounds of Thornbridge Hall, Thornbridge Outdoor Centre provides an atmospheric and secluded location to set up camp for the weekend. The grounds provide camping and optional bunk house accommodation for those with children or wanting a little more comfort.
The campsite is a beautifully situated, offering sheltered flat camping a short walk from the action. Onsite facilities include hot showers, clean, serviced toilets, washing up area and water points. *No vehicles are allowed on the camping fields at any time.
Do you like to bring all the comforts of home with you when camping? We have limited space for a few campervans (caravans or motorhomes) at no extra cost but these will be let on a first come, first serve basis. Due to fire regulations you will be parked in a field designated for vehicles. You’ll have to be completely self sufficient for the weekend as there are no electric / waste or water hook-ups. *Thornbridge Outdoors reserve the right to prevent vehicles onsite if the weather causes the ground to become unsuitable for traffic. Neither Thornbridge Outdoors or Alpkit will have vehicles or equipment on site capable of towing stranded camper vans or caravans.
If want a little more luxury and would like to experience the hospitality of the locals there are a number of Bed & Breakfasts in the area.
Sorry no pets. No fires but BBQ’s are allowed if raised from the ground and outside from your tent. Noise to be kept to a minimum after 10pm in the quiet & family area’s.
We will do our best to provide parking but if it’s wet weather then it will be on the road. The furthest you will have to carry stuff is about 300m. BE PREPARED. When parking please think of others.
All our rubbish will get hand sorted after the event.
The Lodge is located on the Thornbridge site and sleeps up to 36. It is a great option for families not quite ready to spend the night under canvas. The building has 9 bedrooms with a mixture of bunk-beds and single beds sleeping up to a maximum of 6 in a room. The shared facilities include hot showers, drying room and a well equipment kitchen. The Alpkit Big Shakeout offers you a base from which to explore the beautiful Peak District National Park, or to sign up to one of the School of Adventure taster courses that run through the weekend offering adventure for beginners and experts alike.
